A common fault with both chain driven and gear driven oil pump drives from 2005 on, is for the oil pump key drive to wear in the balance shaft, causing slippage and leading to oil starvation.
Powermax Engineering Ltd have developed a process to re-manufacture the existing balance shaft with a new hardened keyway pressed into place.
This allow use of an OE hex key to drive the oil pump which is supplied along with the repaired shaft.
This is a service-exchange process that we provide to repair your balance shaft. Few options on how to avail of this service are:
BEFORE RE-FITTING THIS REPAIR, YOUR ENGINE NEEDS TO BE CHECKED TO ENSURE THAT NO OTHER DAMAGE HAS BEEN CAUSED BY OIL STARVATION, IE TURBOCHARGER, CRANKSHAFT, ETC.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT RE-FITTING THE REPAIRED BALANCE SHAFT WILL TAKE YOUR VEHICLE AWAY FROM MANUFACTURER ORIGINAL SPECIFICATION.
THE PARTS WE SUPPLY ARE COVERED BY A 3 MONTH WARRANTY. THIS WARRANTY ONLY COVERS REPLACEMENT OF THE PARTS WE HAVE SUPPLIED, NOT LABOUR INVOLVED OR ANY OTHER CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGE CAUSED BY OIL PUMP PROBLEMS.
As you will see from the pictures some ways customers decide to repair these balance shafts rather than spending the money to repair correctly. This is only a very short fix and when the hex key breaks in turn just causes more problem ie. turbo failure etc.

- We ship you a pre-repaired shaft and you return old one when removed from balance unit. (surcharge applied until return of old shaft is recieved) [Image of old shaft to be emailed to confirm correct configuration is being sent]
